Launched in 2018 as part of The King’s Fund’s NHS 70 celebrations, Bertie’s Book Group is a book club that focuses on fiction that touches on health or medical-related theme. The group is free, open to all and meets online on the third Thursday of every month.
About this event: In October 2024, the group will be reading and discussing A sign of her own, a new novel by Sarah Marsh. A sign of her own is an empowering story of a young woman’s journey to accepting her deaf identity, exploring the hidden history of the deaf community in the invention of the telephone.
